Issue 57 Is Here: Our Artist's Studio Edition

Issue 57: The Artist's Studio Edition

Welcome to Issue 57, our Artist's Studio Edition. At a time when everyone seems obsessed with optimizing, scaling, and outsourcing work to computers, the art community is doing what it does best: heading to the studio and making magic. This issue explores the very act of making, featuring artists working across watercolor, clay, painting, giant murals, and the art of curating and collecting.

Meet Our Guest Curators

We are thrilled to welcome Tanner Steslow and Max Berman, the co-founders of Square One Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri. Their gallery is built on a foundation of transparency and fierce artist advocacy. Operating on the core belief that without the artist there is no art, their mission centers on preserving the integrity of the creator.

With a program dedicated to bridging the gap between emerging and mid-career voices and the international arts community, Tanner and Max selected the featured artists for this issue through a process that is fair, thoughtful, and deeply invested in long-term career growth.

In-Depth Interviews

  • Janet Pulcho on large-scale floral watercolors that become portraits, presences, and something almost spiritual, alongside the quiet life in Tuscany shaping what comes next.

  • PichiAvo on merging graffiti and classical art, moving from the streets of Valencia to studios and institutions worldwide.

  • Larry Ossei-Mensah on his debut ceramic exhibition, the meditative pull of working with clay, and the liberation of embracing a beginner's mind.

  • Liz Lidgett on collecting art, living with it practically, and building a sustainable practice outside of major art capitals.

  • The Blue House on creating the kind of space you want to exist and what becomes possible when art-making has no boundaries.
