Trish Mitchell, featured in AQ Volume VII, is a British–South African oil painter based in the Cotswolds, whose refined still lifes explore the interplay of light, presence, and emotional resonance. Rooted in the classical realist tradition, her work draws on disciplined technique, subtle tonal sensitivity, and a deep reverence for nature’s quieter moments. She is drawn to the overlooked — the soft curvature of a petal, the hush of shadow — and seeks to capture the fleeting, numinous quality of flowers with care and presence.
Working from her countryside studio near Castle Combe in Wiltshire, Trish creates meditative, heirloom-quality pieces that invite pause, reflection, and soul-level connection. Her paintings are held in private collections internationally and have been recognized by institutions including the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Art Renewal Center.
