Trishna Singh

Born and based in New Delhi, Trishna started painting in 1998 when she took summer courses in oil painting and color theory at Parsons, New York. She completed a degree in Visual Communication from Middlesex University in 2004 and has been painting and exhibiting ever since. Oil paints are her preferred medium, though she is always open to experimenting with new mediums and ideas. Her style is representational with a touch of magic, an integration of observational studies and imagination.


Artist Statement

Painting for me is a transformative vehicle that allows me to articulate my inner worlds. I am inspired by nature and the cosmos. I love to find harmony in composition and to express my love for all aspects of Mother Nature. I try to work with spirit and ask what would like to be created. Then it is a matter of listening or perceiving. Influenced by surrealism and magical realism, I refer to my dreams and intuitions for direction. I try to translate my visions of light and imbue the painting with positive energy.
