There is something quietly persistent about Rachel Le Roux's work (featured in both Create! Magazine and the Create! Magazine 10th Anniversary Book). A British Filipina artist and interior architect based in Manila, she approaches the female form the way one might study a feeling—returning to it again and again, finding something new each time. The way fabric moves across a body. The stories held in stillness. The space between what is shown and what remains.
Trained at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and shaped by over a decade in architecture and design, Rachel carries that same spatial instinct onto canvas. The same sensibility she brings to interiors—space, texture, atmosphere—finds its way into her paintings, making both practices feel like part of the same conversation.
Her work moves between figurative paintings that explore the body's movement and the quiet narratives hidden in gesture, and abstracts built from paint remnants left in the studio. Both carry the same themes: concealment, renewal, and the idea that something broken down can still find its way into a new form.
Her work has been exhibited at The Holy Art Fair in London, the Superfair Art Fair in San Francisco, the South Arts Festival, Leon Gallery, and Altro Mondo Creative Arts in Manila, and is held in private collections worldwide. Her practice has been featured in Tatler Philippines, Lifestyle Asia, Inquirer PH, Bilyonaryo News Channel PH, Art Seen, ArtScene+, and Create! Magazine.
