Chad Glazener

Chad Glazener is a contemplative abstract painter exploring the expressive power of gesture and the possibility of wordless communion. A self-taught artist based in Portland, Oregon, Chad’s work has been featured in galleries and art festivals throughout Oregon and Washington.

For Chad, painting is a vital spiritual practice, a way of communing with Source. Each piece begins in silence and unfolds through gesture, becoming a visual record of presence. Rather than illustrating memory or emotion, his canvases serve as fields of encounter. Viewers are invited into their own interior landscapes through these abstract icons.

In response to the Lightness of Being theme, Chad’s work reflects a descent into stillness that paradoxically lifts. In moments of difficulty or uncertainty, he doesn’t seek to escape—he chooses to immerse. His approach is playful, embodied, and trusting, allowing clarity to emerge not as explanation, but as experience. Each painting nurtures a contemplative mood, offering space for the viewer to rest in openness, where the boundary between self and Source gently fades.

Chad does not use abstraction to describe life, but to inhabit it—fully, gratefully, and awake. His work invites others into that same awareness, into the exquisite lightness that emerges when we allow ourselves to truly be.
