Spanish-American artist Augustina Droze (b. 1981), featured in both Create! Magazine and the Create! Magazine 10th Anniversary Book, holds an MFA from the University at Buffalo and a Doctorate of Creative Arts from the University of Southern Queensland. For over a decade, she has lived and worked in Beijing, China, an experience which has highly influenced her artistic practice.
Droze has a long history as a public artist, having completed major public art projects worldwide. Her art has been exhibited widely, including at the Castellani Art Museum (2014), Banaras Hindu University as a Fulbright Senior Scholar (2017), the U.S. Embassy Beijing American Center as a Distinguished Artist Envoy (2022), the London Biennale (2023), the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (2024), and the Florence Biennale (2025).
In addition to her studio practice, Droze has completed major public art projects worldwide, with commissions from Forbes Company, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Tucson Pima Arts Council, and Nagpur International Airport, among many others.
