April 24 – June 15, 2025 | Warnes Contemporary | Curated by Kaylan Buteyn in partnership with Visionary Art Collective

We are thrilled to highlight Those Who Tend, a heartfelt and timely group exhibition on view at Warnes Contemporary in New York City from April 24 to June 15, 2025. Curated by artist and community-builder Kaylan Buteyn—founder of the Artist/Mother Podcast and Kinhouse Artist Residency—this show is a poignant tribute to artists who balance creative work with caregiving responsibilities.

In a culture that often overlooks the invisible labor of care, Those Who Tend honors artists who create in the in-between moments: during nap times, between shifts, or in the early hours before the day begins. These works, born out of resilience and devotion, offer a glimpse into lives shaped by both creativity and care.

Through a diverse range of media including painting, sculpture, textile, and mixed media, the exhibition explores themes of identity, memory, nourishment, and generational connection. Each piece tells a story not only of artistic vision but also of emotional labor, lived experience, and the quiet courage it takes to keep showing up.

This powerful exhibition is more than a celebration—it's a call to recognize and elevate the nuanced narratives of caregiving artists. It asks us to reflect on what it means to nurture others while carving out space to nurture ourselves.

If you're in New York City this spring, don’t miss this inspiring show at Warnes Contemporary. Visit warnescontemporary.com or follow @warnescontemporary and @visionaryartcollective for more details.
