Artist Spotlight: Zifeng Zang

As an abstract painter based in Philadelphia, Zifeng Zang brings a wealth of education and professional experience to her practice. Zang’s passion for art began at a young age and continued to grow through formal study, culminating in dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from Jilin University in China and West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Before focusing full-time on painting, Zifeng Zang built a successful career as a senior graphic designer and brand manager at leading 4A advertising agencies and technology companies in China. In these roles, she developed expertise in creating visual imagery, characters, and advertising campaigns using digital media. Despite this accomplished career, she remained deeply drawn to the traditional practice of painting. This passion inspired her to pursue further artistic study in the United States, where she has since dedicated her practice to developing an abstract visual language shaped by personal experience and a distinctive perspective.

Zang is a member of the Muse Gallery in Philadelphia and completed a one-year artist residency at the Delaware Contemporary Museum in 2024.
