Magazine, in collaboration with Deep Space Gallery, is thrilled to unveil Poetics of Space, a virtual exhibition that explores the limitless interpretations of space through the lens of contemporary art. This juried showcase brings together a diverse group of artists whose works reflect the profound connections between physical, emotional, and imagined environments.
Space—whether defined by the intimacy of interiors, the vastness of nature, or the playful exploration of abstract concepts—shapes our experiences and inspires creativity. Poetics of Space invites viewers on a journey that celebrates this interplay, highlighting how artists navigate these realms with their unique perspectives and techniques.

Discover the Featured Artists
Bridget Enderle is a painter and collage artist currently based in Reno, Nevada, where she is also an instructor of painting and drawing at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Enderle has exhibited her work nationally, including at the Athenaeum Museum in La Jolla, California, in 2020 and 2019, at the UNLV Donna Beam Gallery in 2024, and at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport in 2022.
Raffi Bashlian is a photographer whose work explores resilience, transformation, and the beauty of everyday life. Inspired by contrasts from Lebanon's civil war, Raffi’s powerful visual narratives highlight the human experience. Through his lens, he transforms ordinary spaces into extraordinary stories, creating immersive experiences that connect and inspire viewers worldwide.
Bree Smith’s multidisciplinary practice blends pop surrealism, futurism, and biographical storytelling to explore identity and imagination. Her vibrant figurative paintings use color and symbolism to reflect on isolation, transformation, and the optimism of the unknown.
Rebecca Graves has made a career of painting large-scale murals and decorative painting in New York City.
Since 2015, Graves has painted murals and graphics for exhibitions at the Museum of Art and Design (MAD) in New York. She recently added BRIC Arts Center in Brooklyn to her portfolio of exhibition-related murals. She is also the creative director at R Graves & Company, producing high-end faux finishes for private and corporate clients in Manhattan.

Amy Hill Hyman is a nonbinary artist from Moncks Corner, SC. They received a BFA in Studio Art and Art History from the College of Charleston in 2019 with a focus on painting and drawing. They have since exhibited in various DIY spaces and were awarded a 2022 Studio Access Residency at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond, VA.
Wendy Kawabata is an artist who has travelled and lived for periods in diverse and far-flung places and is now based in Hawaii. The landscape, the environment, love, and more than a sparkle of dry wit feature prominently and symbiotically.
Wade Kramm’s recent works explore Minimalism, architecture, and perception to reshape the viewer's engagement with the gallery space. Using construction materials such as drywall, floorboards, molding, light switches, and doors, he fabricates alternative spaces, called Fragments, within the gallery. Standing in front of each piece, the phenomenological experience fluctuates between seeing the materials simply as materials and a perceptual/physical engagement with the new spaces made within the surrounding architecture.
Wade Kramm received his M.F.A. in sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI. He has received multiple prestigious grants, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Grant, and an Artist Resource Trust Grant.
Huey Lee is a ceramic artist from South Korea who has dedicated his career to exploring the expressive possibilities of clay. After completing his training as a traditional Korean ceramic artisan, Lee honed his skills working at various pottery and ceramic studios. During this time, he had the privilege of studying under renowned ceramic artists such as TaeGon Kim, Inchin Lee, and the late Gil-bae Kim, who imparted their knowledge of technique, form, and aesthetics.
Noreen Smith is a multidisciplinary artist from Baltimore, MD, whose work is a deeply personal reflection of her experiences as a black woman. Her art is intricately woven with the threads of her life’s journey, drawing inspiration from trailblazers like Kara Walker and Romare Bearden.
Jennifer Small is an abstract painter whose work is about elevating the everyday to express appreciation for the wonder of the ordinary. She is a Pennsylvania native who received her BFA in Painting and BS in Art Education from Millersville University and an MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Katy Becker (b. 1991) is a Richmond-based artist who received her BFA in 2013 from Virginia Commonwealth University's Painting and Printmaking department. Since her time in school, Becker's work has shifted from printmaking abstracted, atmospheric monotypes to detailed and realistic watercolor landscapes, most of which are directly inspired by walks she takes in the city. A wife and mother, she spends her days homemaking and homeschooling while stealing away small pockets of time to paint. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, baking, gardening, entertaining friends, and reading.
