Artist Statement
In my Emergence series, I explore the tension between my inner reality and the external world through the visual metaphor of high-fashion astronauts. The figures, obscured and protected from external effects by their opulent detailed suits, are symbols of both isolation and transformation, and exist outside of time and space. Their helmets obscure identity and emotion, inviting viewers to consider what we hide within ourselves.
Through Emergence, I invite viewers into a personal and whimsical space where imagination and introspection converge. Inspired by science fiction ideas and the enduring core of human nature, my work examines the timeless patterns of behavior and connection that persist across generations. I use a saturated color palette to evoke hope and whimsy, echoing my idealistic view of the future. Each piece is created without using paintbrushes, but instead by using oil paint applied only with my fingers, mixing colors directly on the canvas, bringing the childlike joy of expression into my creative process.
