Tomás Carlos Ortolani
Tomás Carlos Ortolani was born in 1992 in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His affinity with the plastic arts began at a very young age, always fascinated with the world of cartoons and comics. In his first years of training, he participated in illustration workshops until moving to Córdoba in 2016 and beginning to specialize in realist painting in the workshop of artist Juan Manuel Jaimes Roy, while he studied Visual Arts at UNC in Córdoba, Argentina.
Once his career began, he worked with Galería Cerrito in Córdoba, Argentina; Artelibre in Zaragoza, Spain; and James Baird Gallery, Pouch Cove, Canada. Thanks to this, his work is part of private collections in Argentina, Canada, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
He currently resides in his hometown where he carries out his work, without leaving aside the constant search that its realization entails, while instructing those who want to enter and improve in the plastic arts and figuration.
When addressing the theme of his work, Ortolani seeks to connect the viewer with worlds not perceptible to the senses, generating a bridge to the unconscious provided with psychological, spiritual, symbolic, and dream concepts; always covered with extremely personal aspects, wanting to give new meaning to them, searching for the patterns in his life that connect him with that which is inconceivable to the mind in the usual state of wakefulness, maintaining the hope of generating restlessness and light on the path of inner knowledge for the recipient of his example.
