Nikki Storer is a self-taught artist based on the South Shore of Boston whose work is inspired by the beauty and movement of the natural world. Drawing influence from the region's coastal landscapes, time spent on the water, and the ever-changing colors of her garden, she creates paintings that blend abstract expression with elements of realism.
A signature feature of Nikki's work is the incorporation of 24K gold leaf, which she uses in every piece. Nature is at the heart of everything I create. Living on the South Shore of Boston, I am continually inspired by the ocean, coastal landscapes, and the gardens that surround my home. Whether I am on the water watching the changing light across the waves or tending to flowers in my garden, I find endless inspiration in the colors, textures, and rhythms of the natural world.
My work blends realism with abstract elements, allowing me to capture not only what I see but also what I feel. I am drawn to the movement of water, the organic forms found in nature, and the emotional connection we form with the places that bring us peace and joy. Through expressive brushwork, layered color, and texture, I seek to create paintings that evoke a sense of calm, beauty, and connection.
A defining element of my work is the use of 24K gold leaf, which I incorporate into every painting. To me, gold represents the extraordinary moments hidden within the everyday.
