Malia Gomez (featured in both Create! Magazine and the Create! Magazine10th Anniversary Book) is a Hawaiian-born, Filipino-American visual artist currently living and working in Houston, TX. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2018.

Influenced by metaphysics and contemporary light artists such as James Turrell, Carlos Cruz-Diez, and Dan Flavin, she creates atmospheres that cultivate a sense of internal spaciousness, offering a visual exercise that allows the viewer to enter a state of conscious presence and mindfulness.

Gomez had her first solo exhibition, Ad Astra Per Aspera, at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, TX. Her work, Wonderland, was selected for inclusion in the Texas Biennial at the McNay Art Museum with the Filipinx Artists of Houston. Apart from being in biannual group shows at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and receiving a commission from Italian gin company, Engine Gin, Gomez has also been featured in various publications, including New American Paintings, Create! Magazine, All She Makes Magazine, and PaperCity Magazine.
