Artist Statement

Gabriela Mazur’s practice centers on the emotional resonance of abstract expression and the quiet intimacy of human relationships. Through vibrant, multi-layered color fields overlaid with luminous contours, her work captures the interplay between personal inner landscapes and shared human experiences.

Her current body of work explores themes of grief, memory, and emotional resilience. By contrasting energetic, textured palettes with serene, glowing silhouettes, Mazur transforms moments of internal struggle into light and hope—creating visual sanctuaries on canvas that offer comfort, stillness, and space for quiet reflection.

Mini Interview

What is the central theme or concept behind your current body of work?

My current work explores the boundaries between human emotions. My goal is to visualize what is invisible, yet deeply felt in human relationships.

How do you hope your work resonates with or impacts your viewers?

I treat my paintings as an invitation to connect with one’s own emotions. I care about creating art that is deeply felt, not just seen.

Can you share a pivotal moment that has shaped your artistic journey?

My path was shaped by two contrasting experiences: studying fashion design and the painful loss of my father. I discovered that art and a multi-layered color palette became my personal medicine and sanctuary. Since then, I combine my sense of composition with vibrant colors, transforming the most difficult emotions into light and living memories.

What advice would you offer to emerging artists navigating today’s art world?

Stay true to your own sensitivity and experiment to find your unique voice. Treat your creative process as a natural evolution and create at your own pace. Remember that true authenticity and strong emotional engagement will always find the right audience.

Are there any upcoming projects or exhibitions you would like to share with our readers?

I am currently preparing for the autumn art auctions in a wonderful collaboration with the Pragaleria auction house, who was the first to believe in my artistic vision and see the potential of my work. Simultaneously, I am working on a new series of monochromatic paintings. This will be an intimate continuation of my visual dialogue about human bonds and closeness.
