Eline Nievers, featured in AQ Volume VI, is a digital artist from the Netherlands who combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative digital techniques. She is interested in creating layered visual narratives that explore women’s experiences, emotional depth, and inner conflict. Her work is influenced by her background in portrait painting and still-life drawing, as well as her fascination with digital media and technologies, which allow her to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

Eline blends hand-crafted visual elements with photography and AI-generated imagery, transferring her digital compositions onto tangible surfaces such as fine art prints, canvas, or aluminum to enhance their textural and sensory dimensions. Her evocative pieces—such as My Heart Cries, Stitches, The Flight, and Shoot to Kill—demonstrate a unique ability to merge conceptual complexity with striking aesthetics.

Nievers has exhibited her work in various venues and received recognition for her innovative approach. She plans to continue expanding her exploration of the dialogue between tactile and digital realms, creating immersive and emotionally resonant visual experiences.

What inspired you to become an artist, and how did you decide to commit to this path?

Art has always been a quiet undercurrent in my life—something I returned to instinctively. I committed when I realized it was how I make sense of the world and give form to what I can’t easily express in words.

Could you share the story or concept behind your recent work?

I create visual narratives that illuminate what often goes overlooked or silenced in women’s lives. It’s a way of translating inner struggles into something tangible—offering emotional release and connection. Through it, I challenge viewers, spark recognition, and invite acknowledgment of realities that deserve to be seen.

What role does experimentation and exploration play in your artistic practice?

I let each piece emerge intuitively, beginning with emotion rather than a fixed concept. Experimentation is essential—I continually explore new tools, styles, and visual strategies to expand and refine my artistic language.

What message do you hope your art conveys to the world?

That emotion is a form of knowledge—and that there’s strength in honoring the subtle, messy, unseen parts of our experience. I hope my work invites pause, feeling, and reflection.

Share a mantra or favorite quote that keeps you going.

There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” — Leonard Cohen. It reminds me that vulnerability isn't weakness—it’s the entry point for insight, transformation, and creative force.
