Chris Beaty
Chris Beaty is a Chicago-based artist whose collage-inspired paintings and drawings explore the fragmentation of perception and identity. He earned his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2020. His work, held in private collections across the United States, has been featured in multiple publications and exhibited nationwide.
Beaty works in fragments and interruptions, stitching together visual languages that mirror the rhythm of a restless mind—hyper-attuned, nonlinear, and overflowing. Each composition becomes a map of observation and sensation, where meaning drifts, dissolves, and reforms. He approaches attention not as a deficit, but as a flood, embracing its intensity and unpredictability as both material and conceptual terrain.
Alongside his studio practice, Beaty teaches painting and drawing at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, North Central College in Naperville, and Saint Xavier University in Chicago, fostering visual inquiry and contemporary art practice among emerging artists.
