Carrie Cantwell, featured in both Create! Magazine and the Create! Magazine 10th Anniversary Book, creates artwork with quirk! Her art is recognized for its playful themes, vibrant color palettes, and whimsical humor, sparking joy and connecting with audiences of all ages. Her artist's mission is to create little moments that make people smile because we can all use a bit more happiness in our lives.
As an award-winning full-service art brand, Carrie licenses her art with retailers like Target, Urban Outfitters, World Market, and Pottery Barn. She has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered, in TED, Create! Magazine, UPPERCASE Magazine, Peppermint Magazine, PAGE Magazine, Illustrator Magazine, Creative Howl, Voyage ATL, CreativeMornings, Shoutout Atlanta, and we [dot] art.
Carrie has exhibited at the Denver Art Museum, AIGA National Design Center, Walker Art Center, and the Museum of Design Atlanta. Carrie is a Skillshare Top Teacher and co-host of the podcast Two Cranky Creatives, as well as the creator of the Patreon community Graphics Gang. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Master's Certification in Project Management.
Carrie is currently developing her newest series, City Kitties, a playful exploration of cat puns woven into iconic city maps and landmarks. Looking ahead, she plans to continue expanding her love of cats, wordplay, and humor through her work, creating art that spreads laughter and brings a sense of lightness to everyday life.
