In her free time, she is a passionate multidisciplinary artist who breathes creativity. Amalia has focused her attention on papier-mâché sculpture and avant-garde tableaux portraits. Accompanied by her mini dachshund art dog Banjo, and inspired by surrealism, expressionism, turn-of-the-century circus, and worldwide cultures, Amalia has become a factory of creativity, producing art daily. She is incredibly grateful to be absolutely haunted by creativity and always has an ever-growing, lengthy list of next projects that she is excited to start.
Artist Statement
I’m a multi-disciplined artist focusing my attention on papier-mâché and avant-garde set design. I love paper because it allows me to recycle and create a sculpture, props, costumes, or backgrounds for my images. Sustainability has become important to me, especially in my line of work, where the entertainment industry can be wasteful. I love saving materials and repurposing them into a world that fits my imagination.
I create all the processes from start to finish within my image. From brainstorming to conceptualizing, collaging ideas to create a rendering, fabricating, building, designing, decorating, photographing, editing images, and creating stop-motion videos. I love the process and bringing ideas into 3D. Opening up my imaginative world to art is what keeps my heart ticking.
