Artist Statement

My work explores human emotions and the complex relationship between humans and the animal world. Through an approach that blends magical realism and surrealism, my goal is to invite reflection on environmental impact and the deep connection with nature.

Both on canvas and paper, my work tackles complex contemporary concepts and realities through surreal creations accompanied by poetry and wordplay. I aim to move the audience, transporting them into the world I have created, where images condense abstract feelings that, like in life, are sometimes opposing.

Acrylic series such as Aire and Naturaleza Plástica explore the intersection between the natural, artificial, and human worlds, recreating helium figures in real-world environments. In a world overloaded with visual impacts, the goal of my plastic universe is to provoke a smile and invite internal reflection. Avoiding direct confrontation with the harshness or aggressiveness of an image, I aim to evoke the same tenderness and sensitivity I feel towards all animals and their environment.

I repeat a painting until I find the exact atmosphere I'm searching for. If something stays with the viewer, if something makes them smile or softens something inside, then it was worth it.
