Kimberley Kermode, featured in both Create! Magazine and the Create! Magazine10th Anniversary Book, is a studio painter born in Canada who creates fragmented figurative paintings that push their cultural landscapes into broken memories. She received a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design from Newcastle University, Australia, in 2011 and shortly after joined a collective and started showing her work in group art shows.
Kermode uses a vibrant palette to depict distinct faces with fragmented landscapes. The environments are inspired by the subjects’ cultural backgrounds. Moving into more narrative forms of experimental painting, Kermode explores how human adaptability has led to a "cultural mosaic," a diverse and distinct coexistence of cultures.
She currently resides in Melbourne, Australia, where her more serious works have been exhibited. Her art has been shown at Honey Bones Gallery, BSIDE Gallery, Off the Kerb, Hashtag Gallery, and Artist Project Toronto Art Fair, among others.
