Isabelle Chartrand
Since childhood, art has held a central place in my life. Alongside my professional career as a visual arts teacher for children aged 5 to 17, I have continuously pursued a personal creative practice. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from the Université du Québec à Montréal, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge while also developing an artistic path that led me to participate in several solo and group exhibitions.
At the heart of my work lies a deep reflection on our relationship with nature. I explore the interconnection between human beings and the living world, highlighting how we are all part of the same, ever-evolving ecosystem. Nature is not merely a backdrop; it becomes a central figure that merges with the human form.
In my creations, I aim to reveal this organic fusion by incorporating a rich variety of natural elements—trees, foliage, flowers, birds—into feminine silhouettes that blend seamlessly with their surroundings. This union creates a poetic tension between human vulnerability and the regenerative power of nature.
My work invites viewers to feel this quiet connection between the self and the natural world, to see themselves reflected in it, and to consider our place within the living fabric of the Earth—what nature gives us, and how essential it is to care for and protect it.
